Hunting essentials that Professional Hunters carry with them

One knife is better than none

The professional hunter always has a knife on his belt, as you never know what he might need to cut or slice when in the bush. It might just be handy to share that piece of biltong with the hunter, or can be useful to cut the throat of an animal to ensure a kill.

Flash light to brighten the darkest nights

The professional hunters, here at Matlabas Game Hunters always have a flash light either with them or in their vehicle which is not too far away. These come in handy when they need to track an animal that was shot as night started creeping in. A flash light can also be used to ensure that you have collected everything from the blind, as it is dark when you leave and to ensure all valuables are with you for the next day’s hunting.

Carry extra firepower, ammo and arrows

Hunters are always prepared and ready for the day’s excitement. But we know that things can happen, so maybe give your professional hunter a few of your arrows and ammo, so that when it is misplaced at the time you need it, he might give you some to help get your quarry. Our professional hunters also always have their rifles with them, ready to help make the back-up shot if necessary.

Get visual

The professional hunter will always have their binoculars as well as range finders with them, because it’s tough to hunt what you cannot see. These give you a greater opportunity to see where your animal is and know how far they are from you, giving the hunter time to get ready and take the shot.

Water

Our professional hunters will always have a cold beverage for our hunters, as we know that being out in the bush can be time consuming and can require quite a bit of walking. We would never want our hunters to be dehydrated or thirsty, especially when they need to focus on their hunt.
