Matlabas Game Lodge

Matlabas Game Lodge is about 350 kms from Johannesburg and Pretoria, hidden away in
lush bushveld on the banks of the Matlabas River just a few kilometers upstream from the
confluence with the "... great, grey, green, greasy Limpopo River". This is typical bushveld
country: game rich and covered with camelthorn, knobthorn, black monkey thorn, red
bushwillow, leadwood and many others.

Time spent at Matlabas Game Lodge is all about getting away from city life, bright lights,
traffic and stress. It is about peace and tranquility, clean fresh air and clear skies with the
brightest stars you have probably seen. It is time for being quiet and a time to listen to the
jackal calling at night and to birds such as the Redcrested Korhaan, Crested Francolin,
Swainson's Francolin, Double banded and Burchell's Sandgrouse, etc, etc.
